It is best to start with easy vegetables
If you are new to vegetable growing then pick easy vegetables to begin learning best practice and maximise your first crops. There is plenty of time to learn the rest as you build confidence and fit the conditions prevalent in your vegetable garden. My favourites are beetroot, carrots and lettuce as they are so easy and much more tasty than anything you can buy - you will just want to learn what else you can grow!! The great thing is with these you can grow them in almost any space; garden, allotment, container even between your flowers. Other choices include broad beans, French beans and radishes. If you have space then courgettes, outdoor ridge cucumbers and tomatoes are both easy to grow and produce large crops per plant over a long time frame, so are very rewarding. The delight and satisfaction of growing your own vegetables will soon be a fact and then you will want to do more ... Just remember that although these crops are easy to grow they do need some care including
weeding
and
watering
to do their best. To ensure success you need to follow
best planting times too.
So what are you waiting for ... go buy the seed ... sow some of your favourite veg ... care for them and soon you will have some home grown fresh vegetables. Remember not to sow too many at one time and to sow them at regular intervals to ensure a constant supply of young fresh produce. Follow my general tips
how to plant vegetables.
